Putting The Bible First www.rochdale-christadelphians.org.uk

Jesus Christ is the son of God.  He is also the son of man through being born of Mary. It was God’s power (spirit) working in Mary that enabled her to give birth to Jesus without the intervention of a man. Later Mary had other children in the normal way with her husband Joseph. Jesus had to have our human nature to be like us so that his sacrifice would be a real meaningful victory over this human nature. If he had been different from us in this respect, it could have been said that it was easier for him to overcome sin, because he wasn’t like us and so diminish the value of his sacrifice.

So he had to be one of us (Galatians 4:4)

“made of a woman made under the law”

and who was (Hebrews 4;15)

“in all points tempted as we are  yet without sin”
