Putting The Bible First www.rochdale-christadelphians.org.uk

The Bible is the only true message from God and was entirely given by him to reveal himself and his purpose in creation. God inspired men to write down his message.

As it says in 2 Timothy 3:16:

“all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

God has ensured that the scriptures, which make up the Bible, have been collected together in the book we know as the Bible and that the Bible has been preserved through the ages and spread throughout the world. It is available in all the world’s major languages. God has chosen this method to make known and to accomplish his purpose.

He says through his prophet Isaiah 55:11:

“So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

Nothing else is needed except a humble and receptive attitude when reading it.

As God says in Isaiah 66;2;

“ to this man will I look, even to him that is humble and of a contrite spirit, and trembles at my word.”
